Code of Practice at Rallies
Membership Cards
As at Caravan Club Sites and Certificated locations you must be prepared to present your current card for inspection. You are reminded that your membership with the Centre needs to be renewed annually with the Caravan Club.
Toilets
It is essential that you bring your own toilet. On no account must members wash toilet containers at the drinking water tap.
Disposal Points
The use of wastewater filters is not permitted on any rally and waste water must not be drained directly onto the rally field from your outfit. Disposal points for Chemical Toilets and Wastewater will be clearly marked – do not wash out chemical toilets or waste tanks at the water point. If you have the slightest doubt, please ask the Rally Officer.
Dry Rubbish
Members are expected to take home dry rubbish and it is not usual for the Centre to provide bags for this purpose.
Arrival Times At Rallies
Members must not impose on Rally Officers by arriving prior to the advertised starting time of the rally as this can contravene local or national regulations related to use of the site. Please do not arrive before 8am or after 10pm without prior agreement with the Rally Officers.
Speed on the Rally Field
The speed of all vehicles including pedal cycles must not exceed walking pace. Please keep to roadways and centre lines at all times. Do not drive between facing sidewalls of caravans at any time to reach your own outfit in a different caravan line. Members who consistently fail to observe this Speed Limit will be asked to leave the Rally Field and action will be taken against offending members. The safety of Members and their families is of great importance to us all. Members who are expecting non-caravanning visitors must advise them of the Speed Restriction. No learner drivers including motorcyclists are allowed to drive on the Rally Field.
Towing Out
If it is necessary for your Car/Caravan/Motor home to be towed from a difficult or muddy field, you will be expected to reimburse the person towing for their services. This will be on a personal basis, agreed prior to the tow and is entirely at the risk of all parties concerned. Towing is by voluntary agreement and should not be expected as of right. NB The person towing should be aware that their insurance may not cover this situation.
Vehicle Movement in Adverse Weather Conditions
Rally officers are empowered to restrict the movement of vehicles on the rally field during bad weather. In the event that ground conditions are particularly severe, vehicle movement will only be allowed at the discretion of the rally officer. However if the yellow flag is flying, then no vehicle movement will be allowed without the express permission of the rally officer.
Saving Pitches
The saving of pitches for friends is at the discretion of the Rally Officers, but it is recommended that this is limited to a maximum of two.
Accommodation
A pitch is large enough to accommodate the following:
one caravan, one awning, one car and one pup tent (at the Rally Officers discretion). A second car may be accommodated either within the pitch or separately on a designated car parking space as decided by the Rally Officer. Members wishing to bring additional items e.g. boats, second pup tents etc., would need to be allocated and charged for a second pitch.
Pets Cats, Dogs etc.,
Must be on a lead and under control on the rally field. The length of the lead should not exceed 10 feet from any point of the caravan. Pets should also be exercised off the rally field. Under no circumstances should they be allowed to foul the ground in the vicinity of the caravans. Please consider ensuring your pet to cover yourself for any unfortunate incidents.
